The miniaturization of devices down to the nanoscale resulted in a dramatic increase in efficiency in many fields. Moreover, beyond efficiency improvements, a number of applications emerge which could not be realized before, particularly on the molecular level. The contributions presented in our focus meeting range from the application of molecular switches for medical imaging, flexible solar cells and liquid crystal windows to the preparation of membranes with controlled pore size.

Professor Dr. Rainer Herges from Kiel University kindly accepted to host the meeting. Professor Herges is speaker of the Collaborative Research Centre 677 “Function by Switching”.

The meeting will be organized in the Max Eyth Lecture Hall (Max-Eyth-Str. 6) on campus of Kiel University. After the event we will offer a guided tour through Otto Diels Institute for Organic Chemistry.

Please find directions to the Max Eyth lecture hall here: https://goo.gl/maps/VQpY0 .
Best parking is in the “Kuhnkestraße”: https://goo.gl/maps/VQpY0 .
